Monsanto Told to Pay $275 Mln Over PCBs in Washington School

A Washington State jury ordered Bayer AG’s Monsanto unit to pay about $275 million to a group of people who blame their illnesses on exposure to polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, at the Sky Valley School in Monroe County.

  • Jury found PCBs made by the company were the proximate cause of the plaintiffs’ injuries and awarded about $55 million in compensation and $220 million in punitive damages
