Monsanto, BASF Appeal $75 Million Dicamba Award to Peach Farmer

Monsanto Co. and BASF Corp., after successfully shaving $190 million off a dicamba award, will continue their challenge to the verdict in favor of a Missouri peach farmer who said the weedkiller killed his trees, filing two notices of appeal with the Eighth Circuit.

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri previously granted BASF’s motion to reduce the punitive damages award from $250 million to $60 million, citing the lack of actual malice and the presence of only economic damages.
