Minnesota Fury Risks Drowning Out Trump Bid to Focus on Economy

President Donald Trump is heading back to America’s heartland in an attempt to refocus an economic message that’s been upstaged by controversy over his deportation policies and the killing of two protesters by federal officers.

In a visit to Iowa on Tuesday, the president will tour a local business, meet state lawmakers and deliver a speech “on affordability and on the economy,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday.

But the nation’s focus will be to Iowa’s north, in neighboring Minnesota, where already-high tensions worsened over the weekend when federal immigration agents shot and killed a 37-year-old intensive care ...
