Minnesota Defeats Cookware Group’s Effort to Halt State PFAS Law

Minnesota can enforce a law that bans intentionally added PFAS from consumer products sold or distributed in the state, a federal judge ruled.

The Cookware Sustainability Alliance failed to show a likelihood of success on the merits of its claims, including one allegation that the law violated the Constitution’s commerce clause, Judge John R. Tunheim said in a Tuesday memorandum opinion and order denying the plaintiff’s motion for a preliminary injunction filed in the US District Court for the District of Minnesota.
