U.S. regulators are seeking court action to prevent closure of a natural gas pipeline that could cut back available power for millions of Florida residents.
Shutting down operations of the Sabal Trail gas pipeline could endanger the supply of electricity to Florida residents, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said in a Feb. 6 court filing. The commission asked the court to delay for 45 days a decision on whether to void federal approvals for the pipeline, a ruling that would force its closing.
