Interior Seeks New Public Input on Migratory Bird Rule (1)

The White House took the first steps to review and possibly reverse a rule that lifted century-old protections for migratory birds—one of the first Trump-era Interior environmental rollbacks to inch toward possible reversal.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service soon will open up a new 20-day public comment period on a rule implementing the Migratory Bird Treaty Act to “allow additional engagement” following a Federal Register notice scheduled to be published next week, Interior spokeswoman Melissa Schwartz said Thursday.
