Mexico Seeks to Halve Permitting Time to Attract More Factories

Mexico’s new digital agency will seek within the next year to reduce drastically the number of hurdles for companies looking to move to the country with manufacturing plants.

By making permitting processes simpler and centralized through a single digital portal, the country estimates that it can cut the average time for a company to start operating in Mexico to 1.3 years, about half the current wait. President Claudia Sheinbaum has promised a new strategy to promote investment while developing social services in parallel.
