Mercedes-Benz Group AG agreed to pay $150 million Monday to settle claims brought by 50 state attorneys general that the company knowingly sold vehicles equipped with devices designed to circumvent emission controls.
The German automaker and its US subsidiary will pay states including New York, Connecticut, and Texas as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico differing amounts as part of consent decrees filed in corresponding jurisdictions, according to statements from various AG offices.
