Medicare payments to hospital-based dialysis centers will increase 3.1% in 2024, while freestanding centers will see a 2% payment bump under a final rule from Biden administration.
Medicare is expected to pay $6.7 billion to roughly 7,900 dialysis facilities under the final rule (RIN: 0938-AV05) from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which increases the base payment rate to $271.02 in 2024 from $265.57 in 2023.
The rule will also increase payment for certain new renal dialysis drugs and biological products after the Transitional Drug Add-on Payment Adjustment (TDAPA) period ends, according to a CMS fact sheet. This ...
