Massachusetts Governor Signs Order Protecting Emergency Abortion

Pregnant people in Massachusetts will have access to emergency life-saving health care, including abortion services, under an executive order announced Monday by Gov. Maura Healey (D).

The order, announced on the second anniversary of the US Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, reaffirms requirements relating to state agencies, insurers, and providers’ obligation to provide emergency abortion services.
