Maryland High Court Asked to Consider City, County Climate Cases

Two Maryland cities and one county are looking to revive their climate deception claims against energy companies in state court, filing a consolidated appeal to the Supreme Court of Maryland.

Circuit courts in Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City got it wrong when they ruled in favor of oil and gas company claims that three Maryland climate tort cases are preempted by federal law, the plaintiffs argue in the petition filed Tuesday.
