Marathon Petroleum Unit Makes Progress in Pipeline Trespass Case

Tesoro High Plains Pipeline Co. won its bid to halt proceedings before the Interior Department over alleged pipeline trespassing in North Dakota after a federal judge said the correct process wasn’t followed.

The company—a subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum Corp.—was granted a preliminary injunction because the company has shown “a likelihood of success on the merits of its claim” that a vacatur order violated the Administrative Procedure Act, Judge Daniel M. Traynor of the US District Court for the District of North Dakota said Wednesday.
