Manchin Applauds Speedier FERC Permits to Boost Grid Reliability

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will continue to move quicker to rule on natural gas projects and revamp electric grid planning, acting Chairman Willie Phillips told lawmakers Thursday.

“I am proud of the steps the commission has taken to streamline our permitting process so that we can more efficiently issue our decisions, while at the same time continue to enhance our reliability,” Phillips, a Democrat, told the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
