Two Unions Challenge EPA’s Chemical Risk Evaluation Rule (1)

Two labor groups are challenging a recent final EPA rule that updated the procedures the agency uses to examine chemicals’ risks and determine whether workplace and other restrictions are needed.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers filed a petition Tuesday asking the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit to review the Environmental Protection Agency’s May 3 rule.

The United Steelworkers Union also filed a petition on Tuesday asking the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to review the same rule.
