Louisiana Residents Proved Landfill Odor, Emissions Were Harmful

Louisiana’s Jefferson Parish Landfill emitted odors and gasses that were capable of causing headaches, vomiting, fatigue, and other ailments that decrease quality of life, a federal judge ruled, handing a victory to hundreds of nearby homeowners and residents.

There’s “no doubt” the landfill experienced hydrogen sulfide emissions and emissions of other matters between 2017 and 2019, Judge Susie Morgan of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana said Tuesday.
