The Biden administration is reviewing cultural surveys performed along a nearly 300-mile-long electric transmission line project in Idaho and Oregon, disappointing the line’s developers that have spent 18 years trying to connect more renewable energy to serve the broader region.
The 500-kilovolt line, first proposed in 2006, would deliver 1,000 megawatts of power in each direction, feeding the Pacific Northwest when demand peaks in the winter months and supplying Idaho Power’s territory when it peaks in June.
