Lone Star Industries Inc. has agreed to pay $729,000 to settle claims that it violated federal and state air pollution limits at its cement manufacturing facility in Indiana, according to a filing in a federal court in the state.
The civil penalty will be split evenly between the state and the federal government if approved by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, the consent decree says. The company also agreed to install multiple control measures and implement environmental mitigation projects at the facility, according to Wednesday’s filing.
