New York state Attorney General Letitia James, one of the nation’s most high-profile legal officers on environmental issues, said Thursday that the Biden administration’s presence will free her office to focus more on enforcement and less on litigation.
“Enforcement really will be our focus going forward,” James (D) said at a briefing convened by the Center for American Progress.
Some areas that the AG’s office will prioritize are unhealthy levels of pollution, Superfund sites, and dumping, which James called a major problem on Long Island and in parts of upstate New York.
