Legionella Found in Water Supply of EPA’s D.C. Headquarters (1)

Legionella has been found in various locations at the EPA’s headquarters in Washington, according to an internal agency email sent to staff on Friday and reviewed by Bloomberg Law.

A routine test conducted earlier this month at the William Jefferson Clinton North and South buildings in downtown Washington, D.C., found Legionella present in three water fountains, two expansion tanks, and a pantry sink.

The General Services Administration “swiftly closed the contaminated sources, implemented corrective actions, and conducted additional testing,” according to the email. The affected water sources will remain out of commission pending further sampling and analysis.
