A Senate committee on Thursday approved President Donald Trump’s nomination of Lee Zeldin to lead the EPA on a mostly party-line vote.
Zeldin’s nomination now moves to the full Senate, where he is broadly expected to be confirmed. He advanced out of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee by a 11-8 margin, with Democrats mostly opposing Trump’s pick.
