Landowners Seek Mountain Valley Pipeline Suit High Court Review

Virginia landowners are asking the US Supreme Court to hear their case challenging the Mountain Valley Pipeline LLC’s use of their land.

The case “presents a challenge to the constitutional authority of an unelected agency wielding illegitimate power to take private land from American citizens,” the petition said.

The US Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in February affirmed a federal district court’s decision to dismiss the lawsuit for lack of jurisdiction. The high court in December declined to temporarily stop work on the portion of the pipeline going through the properties.
