The US Bureau of Land Management agreed to evaluate the environmental effects of grazing permits in portions of Sonoran Desert National Monument, in a stipulation approved by a federal judge in Arizona.
Judge Susan R. Bolton of the US District Court for the District of Arizona ruled in August that the agency didn’t adequately analyze the effects of its decision to allow livestock grazing in the national monument—a win for environmental groups that brought the challenge.
