Kansas County Sues Plastics Giants Over Alleged Recycling Lies

Ford County, Kansas, on Wednesday sued petrochemical companies—including oil and gas giants such as ExxonMobil—for allegedly worsening a waste pollution crisis by promoting plastics as recyclable when most aren’t.

The class action complaint, filed in the US District Court for the District of Kansas, accuses 11 defendants of running a “decades-long campaign of fraud and deception about the recyclability of plastics.”
