Judge Triche-Milazzo Recuses Herself From Former BP Engineer’s Case

Judge Jane Triche-Milazzo recused herself May 15 from the case of a former BP Plc engineer charged with obstruction of justice in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill (United States v. Mix).

Kurt Mix, of Katy, Texas, was arrested April 24 for allegedly intentionally deleting dozens of text messages to a supervisor relating to the Deepwater Horizon disaster response, including the amount of oil flowing from the damaged Macondo well (79 DER A-30, 4/25/12).
