Judge Approves Government Contract to Corral Nevada Wild Horses

A federal judge in Nevada denied an animal rights group’s petition to vacate the Bureau of Land Management’s plan to corral wild horses and burros in a private holding facility.

The bureau complied with both the National Environmental Policy Act and the Wild Horse Act when it finalized a contract to hold 4,000 wild horses and burros at a holding facility near Winnemucca, Nev., Judge Anne Traum said in a summary judgment for the US District Court for the District of Nevada.
