Israel has ratified the Paris Agreement on climate change, committing the country to reducing greenhouse gas emissions 25 percent by 2030 which would limit residents to 7.7 tons of annual carbon dioxide emissions each.
“The Paris Agreement not only binds the state of Israel to reduce greenhouse gas emissions like all developed countries, but is also a tremendous opportunity for growth of the Israeli clean-tech industry, which will supply new technological solutions for environmental protection and coping with climate change to the whole world,” Israeli Environmental Protection Minister Ze’ev Elkin said in a Nov. 15 statement.
