Interior Scraps Trump-Era Moves on California Renewables Plan

The Biden administration is revoking plans to change renewable energy development on public lands in southern California that was announced in the last days of the Trump administration, Interior Department officials said Wednesday.

The changes that former Interior Secretary David Bernhardt proposed in January would have removed conservation measures from the California Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan, or DRECP, that helped to balance solar power development with environmental protection.
