Interior Inspector General Clears Official in Ethics Inquiry

Laura Daniel-Davis, the acting deputy Interior secretary, didn’t violate federal ethics regulations or an ethics pledge she took when she suspended oil and gas leases in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the Interior Office of Inspector General said in a report published Monday.

The inspector general investigated allegations that Daniel-Davis violated ethics regulations regarding personal and business relationships and President Joe Biden’s ethics pledge for agency appointees under a 2021 executive order, according to the report.
