Ingredion Resolves Clean Air Act Allegations at Milling Facility

Ingredion Inc., a plant-based ingredient maker, has agreed to pay a civil penalty of $1,139,600 to settle alleged violations of the Clean Air Act at its corn wet milling facility in Indianapolis, the EPA said Wednesday.

The company will also implement measures at a cost of around $7 million to reduce and offset unpermitted emissions of particulate matter and to comply with lower future PM limits, the agency said.

Ingredion reached the settlement with Environmental Protection Agency, the US Department of Justice, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, and the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, according to the EPA.
