Industry Won’t Challenge Court Ruling Upholding Ozone Limits (1)

The Obama-era ozone limits will remain in place now that a U.S. Chamber of Commerce-led coalition of energy and manufacturing companies have decided against challenging a federal appeals court ruling that largely upheld them.

Jan. 17 was the last opportunity for the coalition to petition the U.S. Supreme Court to review the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit’s August ruling in Murray Energy v. EPA, which essentially rebuffed the coalition’s argument that the 2015 ozone limits of 70 parts per billion were too stringent.
