The Michigan Environmental Rules Review Committee on Thursday approved proposed drinking water standards for seven per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) known as GenX, PFBS, PFHxS, PfHxA, PFNA, PFOS, and PFOA.
The state’s maximum containment levels for PFOA and PFOS would be lower than the Environmental Protection Agency’s health advisory level of 70 parts per trillion for those chemicals.
