Industry Groups Seek Delay of Gulf of Mexico Oil Review Wipe Out

Industry groups filed an emergency motion with a federal court to push back when the National Marine Fisheries Service’s biological opinion for oil and gas development in the Gulf of Mexico will be set aside.

The agency won’t be able to replace the challenged biological opinion until May 2025 “even after allocating all practicable resources,” intervenor-defendants including Chevron USA Inc. and the American Petroleum Institute told the US District Court for the District of Maryland on Monday.
