Industry Group Targets Stricter Coke Oven Rules in New Lawsuit

New, stricter rules governing steel manufacturing emissions are in the crosshairs of legal action from the American Coke and Coal Chemicals Institute and Coke Oven Environmental Task Force.

The metallurgical coke and coal chemicals industry groups filed the petition for review on Aug. 30 at the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, challenging hazardous air pollutant standards for coke ovens that were finalized by the EPA in May.
