PARIS—The International Energy Agency July 23 urged Turkey to improve its post-2012 plans for combating energy-related carbon dioxide emissions, in particular by setting a quantitative target to limit them.
The Paris-based agency, which advises the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, made its comments in Energy Policies of IEA Countries: Turkey 2009 Review, which takes stock of the country’s energy landscape and recommends policy improvements.
