The US Fish and Wildlife Service entered into a settlement with four hunting associations Tuesday, agreeing to pay the groups about $22,000 to drop their suit seeking a decision on whether to ease gray wolf protections.
“Plaintiffs agree to hold harmless Federal Defendants in any litigation, further suit, or claim arising from the payment of the agreed-upon $21,775.25 settlement amount,” the proposed agreement filed with the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan said.
