Honolulu Files Climate Lawsuit Against Fossil Fuel Companies (1)

Honolulu sued fossil fuel companies Monday for their role in climate change.

The Hawaii capital’s lawsuit, filed in state court, accuses the industry of misleading the public about the impacts of climate change, and seeks money to offset costs from flooding, road damage, and other local impacts.

“For decades and decades, the fossil fuel corporations knew that the products that they were selling would have tremendous damaging economic problems for local governments, cities, and counties that our taxpayers are going to be forced to bear,” Joshua W.
