SHENZHEN, China—Companies in Hong Kong’s transportation sector can apply for funding to test new vehicles and technology that will reduce greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions and improve air quality as part of a 300 million HKD ($38.6 million) Pilot Green Transport Fund, the Environmental Protection Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region announced March 29.
The funding will subsidize costs of retrofitting vehicles or installing technology “not already in common use” locally, the department said.
