HILL ENERGY BRIEFING: Capito, Manchin Compete on Energy Bills

A West Virginia senator yesterday dropped legislation to streamline the energy permitting process, but it wasn’t Democrat Joe Manchin.

Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) jumped into the permitting fray by offering her own version of a bill to expedite the federal process through which energy projects are approved, just days before Democrats are expected to unveil the language Manchin pushed to be part of the stop-gap government funding measure.
