HILL ENERGY BRIEFING: Biden, GOP Showdown Coming on WOTUS Rule

Republicans are gearing up for the next round in their fight with President Joe Biden over the “Waters of the US” rule.

Biden made good on his threat to veto a Republican-led disapproval resolution (H.J. Res. 27), which sought to scrap the administration’s expansion of what bodies of waters are subject to federal environmental protections.

“The resolution would leave Americans without a clear definition of ‘Waters of the United States’,” Biden said in a statement Thursday announcing his veto.
