Hartz Mountain Corp. is petitioning the Environmental Protection Agency to review its plan to cancel prior use approvals for six pet flea-and-tick collars made by the company.
The EPA found “unacceptable risks” for children exposed to pet collars containing tetrachlorvinphos (TCVP), the agency said last week in a court-ordered response to a 2009 petition asking the agency to ban the pesticides’ uses on pets.
