Hanford Tank Waste Holds on to DOE’s $45 Billion Cleanup Award

Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure can move forward with a $45 billion maximum value US Department of Energy contract to cleanup radioactive waste at the Hanford Site in Washington state, the US Court of Federal Claims said.

The court denied Hanford Tank Disposition Alliance LLC’s protest of the award, according to a Monday judgment. The court’s opinion granting the government judgment on the administrative record is under seal.
