The Center for Biological Diversity is asking a court to order the Trump administration to reconsider its February decision to avoid listing the horseshoe crab under the Endangered Species Act.
The group on Thursday filed suit in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, claiming the National Marine Fisheries Service violated the ESA and the Administrative Procedure Act by finding the horseshoe crab doesn’t merit federal protection. The group is asking the court to vacate the finding and require NMFS to create a new one.
