Grijalva Doubles Down on Opposition to Manchin Permitting Bill

Dozens of House Democrats are urging party leaders not to include changes to energy projects’ federal permitting in must-pass legislation before the end of the year.

House Natural Resources Chairman Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) on Monday re-sent a September letter signed by 77 Democrats with new language from him specifically asking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) to exclude “harmful permitting provisions” from the National Defense Authorization Act and from government funding legislation.
