Green Groups Throw Weight Behind EPA in States’ Car Rules Fight

A coalition of environmental organizations asked to wade into a state-led legal challenge against the Biden administration’s vehicle emission standards.

The Sierra Club, Conservation Law Foundation, Environmental Defense Fund, and other groups on Wednesday asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to intervene on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency in a lawsuit led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R).

Members of the groups “would suffer economic, health, recreational, and aesthetic injuries from increased air pollution, worsened effects of climate change, and diminished deployment of lower-polluting automobiles,” according to the motion to intervene.
