Green Groups Sue to Halt Mining Road in Alaska National Park (1)

Nine environmental groups sued the Trump administration on Tuesday to stop a 211-mile mining road from being built across a national park in a wild, roadway-free region of northwest Alaska.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska, alleges the Bureau of Land Management violated the National Environmental Policy Act by taking an insufficiently hard look at the environmental consequences of building the road to the Ambler Mineral Belt northwest of Fairbanks.
