Green Groups Ask DC Court to Review Venture Global LNG Project

Environmental groups on Tuesday challenged the Energy Department’s approval of Venture Global’s application to export liquefied natural gas from its planned Calcasieu Pass 2 (CP2) facility in Louisiana, saying the department failed to properly consider the impacts.

The Natural Resources Defense Council and Sierra Club filed the short unstamped petition for review with the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. This legal challenge is one of several from these groups aimed at blocking the CP2 project under construction in Cameron Parish.
