Nearly half of US governors pledged to train 1 million new apprentices for climate and clean power industries over the next decade, a move they say will bolster the economy as the energy transition continues.

Monday’s announcement from the US Climate Alliance, a coalition of 24 governors, marks a partnership between states, industry, labor unions, and others to create the jobs needed to sustain climate initiatives, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) said from a podium at New York Climate Week.
