Government Says Former EPA Official Stole $886,000 in Salary, Bonuses Over 13 Years

The Justice Department is accusing a former Environmental Protection Agency official of stealing $886,000 in salary, benefits, and bonuses from 2000 to April 2013 (United States v. Beale, D.D.C., Docket No. Unavailable).

The government on Aug. 23 filed a case in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against John Beale, who was a senior policy adviser in the EPA Office of Air and Radiation. Online agency staff records show Beale no longer works for EPA.
