House Republicans took the first steps to advance their congressional energy agenda Thursday, with a committee approving a slate of bills to promote domestic fossil fuel production over Democrats’ objections.
The bills aim to “reverse the damage done by President Biden’s agenda,” including the president’s promotion of clean energy and climate policies, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) said.
