Formosa Plastics Plant in Louisiana Draws Permit Challenge (1)

Community groups and conservation advocates are challenging federal permits for a proposed Louisiana petrochemical complex that would be one of the world’s largest plastic plants.

The project proposed by Taiwanese conglomerate Formosa Plastics Group in St. James Parish, La. received Army Corps of Engineers permits in September.
